Famous Bollywood singer Shilpa Rao, who coined the new love ballad – “Kaisi Teri Baatein” with co-singer Suyyash Rai, says the purpose of art and music is to heal and portray the people who suffer.
Shilpa said, “My new song is about the basics and little things of everyday life in a romantic relationship. We tend to celebrate the great days of romantic life when we are in a relationship. But when destructive things happen on the outside, all we look for are the smallest things and habits that make us feel “at home.” Maybe that’s why in a world going through so much havoc, we seek refuge in love songs, for hope.
The song is written by Kaushal Kishore, composed by Siddharth Singh and Suyyash Rai. Suyyash, who also lent her vocals for the song, was featured in the clip alongside Priyal Gor.
Shilpa is known for delivering several Bollywood hit songs like “Khuda Jaane”, “Bulleya” and many more.
As an artist, she believes that the purpose of art in all its forms, be it – music, film, painting, architecture, dance, theater – is to represent reality.
“If we’re not aware of what’s going on in the world, we won’t be able to reflect it in our art and that’s why we shouldn’t kid ourselves. Not that we can provide logistical help every time, but the fact that we sing a song of solidarity comes from compassion for these human beings whom we do not know personally but who can feel their pain,” she said. declared.
Citing the example, Shilpa said, “For example, right now as I speak to you, there is a war between Russia and Ukraine. Even if we cannot do anything, we pray and are aware of what we will lose if the war continues. People are dying. Humanity is at stake.”
“It was the same situation during the farmers’ demonstration in our country! People have lost their lives…I believe art can heal and as artists we can also reflect society,” Shilpa concluded.
‘Kaisi Teri Baatein’, produced by Tips Music, is available on the official Tips Music YouTube channel and on all audio streaming platforms.
