Miners Foundry is pleased to welcome local singer Tamara Fouyer, accompanied by pianist Alan Feeney, on December 17th in Foundry’s Stone Hall. The performance is dubbed “Songs of the Season”.
The concert will see Fouyer and Feeney perform a plethora of holiday favorites in front of a cabaret-style seated audience, at tables of two or four. The room itself is an intimate place and will feast on the toppings of the season.
Fouyer sang and played music for most of his life. As a child, she studied classical singing and piano, which helped inspire her as she developed a love for Broadway, opera, and jazz. Fouyer is a mother and lives in Grass Valley with her husband.
Likewise, Feeney has performed for decades and studied at Northwestern University as well as the famous Berklee College of Music. He has performed with several local jazz and pop groups.
“We moved away from the typical 40s [and playing] a lot of different genres, it’s more eclectic, ”Fouyer said. ” I brought [performers] who play acoustic bass, slide guitar and saxophone on some of the songs.
Fouyer said the performance will be heartwarming, bringing back winter memories of years gone by. “I put in place a program to get people in the holiday mood; plus an intimate evening of music and a more intimate style concert. It’s sentimental, there is a lot of emotion.
