Shinedown breaks record for most mainstream rock songs No. 1 – Billboard

A presence on BillboardMainstream Rock Songs’ streaming chart since the early 2000s, Shinedown breaks the record for most No.1s in nearly 40 years of chart history.

The Florida band’s latest single, “Atlas Falls,” climbs 2-1 to No. 16 Shinedown on the August 22 chart.

Led by vocalist Brent Smith, along with Eric Bass, Barry Kerch and Zach Myers, Shinedown takes sole control of the largest number of No.1s in the archives of the Three Days Grace tally, which was first mapped under four months after Shinedown’s first appearance; Shinedown arrived with “Fly From the Inside” on the April 19, 2003 chart, while TDG followed with “(I Hate) Everything About You” on the August 2, 2003 list.

Three Days Grace had recaptured the mark for the most No.1s in September 2018, when “Infra-Red” became its 14th leader, overtaking Van Halen’s booty.

“Atlas Falls” was released in 2020 after initially being recorded during the band’s 2012 album sessions. Amaryllis. Prior to his arrival on streaming DSPs, he debuted as part of a t-shirt set that raised money for COVID-19 relief through Direct Relief.
