Paolo Nutini announces comeback album and shares two new songs

Paolo Nutini is ready for his comeback: the Scottish singer-songwriter has announced Last bittersweet night, his first studio album in eight years. Ahead of its Julia 1st release via Atlantic, today he previews the LP with singles “Lose It” and “Through the Echoes.” He has also shared UK and European tour dates for 2022.

The sequel to 2014 caustic love, Last bittersweet night is an epic comeback. With 16 tracks clocked into a sprawling 70 minutes, the record sees Nutini seamlessly oscillate between elements of classic rock, post-punk and Krautrock. Nutini produced the record himself alongside Dani Castelar and Gavin Fitzjohn, and preorders for this are in progress.

Today’s new singles perfectly exemplify Nutini’s wide range of influences. “Through the Echoes” is a smooth, moving track backed by both acoustic guitar and piano, reminiscent of the blues of legends like Otis Redding. Meanwhile, at the other end of Nutini’s spectrum, “Lose It” draws direct inspiration from pioneering German bands like Can and Neu!, layering distorted vocals with a driving rhythm section that gradually builds over the course of five minutes. of the piece.

And more good news for fans across the pond: Nutini also recently announced a handful of live dates in the UK and Europe between May and September 2022, including a party supporting the return highly anticipated by Liam Gallagher in the legendary Knebworth Park. You can head to ticket master to check ticket availability, and see the schedule below.
