Gateway Theater will present Krystle Dos Santos this weekend at Songs Of Summer



Following the success of last year’s sold-out concerts, Gateway Theater will open its 2022/23 season with the highly anticipated, summer songsSaturday August 27.

Taking place just outside the theater in the Gateway Theater Grove, this outdoor space will be a place for patrons to congregate, celebrate the season and enjoy an upbeat Motown setting with Krystle Dos Santos and her band of three. musicians.

“We received a lot of positive feedback from last year’s outdoor concerts and knew we had to bring Songs of Summer back,” said Barbara Tomasic and Jasmine Chen, Gateway’s artistic direction team. “We are thrilled to have our community coming together again, making new memories and celebrating the last days of summer with live music.”

The evening show at 7:00 p.m. (doors 6:15 p.m.) features an incredible Motown set performed by local soul, jazz, and R&B singer Krystle Dos Santos and her three-piece band. Audiences will be treated to Krystle’s extraordinary, powerful and rich voice, which has won her two Western Canadian Music Awards. It will be an entertaining show celebrating classic soul music from artists such as Stevie Wonder, The SupremesTemptations and more!

Krystle’s set will open your ears to the entire era of Motown music, including original songs “Walk on Through” and “Better,” and classic feel-good tunes “Higher and Higher” from Jackie Wilson“My Girl” by The Temptations, “Just the Two of Us” by Bill Wither and Grover Washington Jr., and many more, guaranteed to transport audiences back to the good old days.

For the perfect summer evening, attendees can enjoy this gentle sunset serenade with a glass of wine or beer, light snacks and frozen treats from the licensed Gateway concession. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to carve out a spot with their own blankets and low lawn chairs.
