So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Every week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), collect even more new music which we would call “indie”, and talk about what metal comes out. We publish music news, premieres of songs, etc. all day. We are updating a weekly playlist of some of our current favorite tracks. Here is a daily summary with a bunch of interesting and recently released songs in one place.
FLOATING POINTS – “SOMEONE CLOSE”
Floating Points have released their fourth single of 2022 and revealed that all four will be combined on one limited vinyl release which arrives December 16 via Ninja Tune. “Someone Close” is eight minutes of thrilling ambient bliss.

GLORILLA – “NUT QUICK”
GloRilla is one of the hottest rap stars of the year, and his debut EP Anyway, life is good… arrives this Friday (11/11) via CMG/Interscope. Ahead of her release, she shared another single, and it’s another very promising one.

CHANNEL TRES – “6AM”
Channel Tres continues to prepare for their new album Real cultural shitand his blend of West Coast rap and Chicago house is in full force on new single “6am.”

METRONOMY & PANIC SHACK – “GOOD TO BE BACK”
Upcoming Metronomy deluxe edition of their album Small world features collaborations with artists who rework the songs into brand new creations. Panic Shack just covered the song, turning it from frothy pop to indie-punk banger.

CHILLI JESSON (EX PALMA VIOLETS) – “CAROLINA REAPER”
“Carolina Reaper” is both the new solo single from former Palma Violets frontman Chilli Jesson – a mix of modern and baroque dancepop elements – and the name of his official hot sauce.

DIZZY – “BARKING DOG”
Canadian alt-pop group Dizzy have shared their first new single since their 2021 EP Separate places. “Barking Dog” is “mostly about the fact that we are all just products of our youth; doomed in various ways that none of us asked for,” said singer Katie Munshaw.

SEGA BODEGA – “KEPKO”
British artist Sega Bodega has shared his first new track since the release of his second album Romemo last year, accompanied by a video produced and shot by Sega and Lydia Ourahmane. “Lydia’s camera is haunted, everything we filmed went back into the laptop, all destroyed and scrambled like that,” Sega says; “a gift.”

LANNDS – “OVERSEAS/RETURN 2 U”
“It’s one of our favorite songs and definitely one of the most exciting we’ve ever done together,” LANNDS, the duo of Raina Woodard and Brian Squillace, say of their latest single for Run for Cover. , the dreamer “Overseas/ RETURN 2 U.”

TIWA SAVAGE & ASAKE – “LOAD”
Nigerian artists Tiwa Savage and Asake have come together for a very appealing pop song steeped in Afrobeats.

BEN QUAD – “YOU ARE PART OF IT”
Ben Quad’s new album I’m afraid that’s all there is is one of this year’s best mathy, Midwest-style emo, and today they’re keeping the momentum going with new single “You’re Part Of It,” a song that also feels indebted to the raw shouto, to Kinsella-style emo and punk anthemic pop.

GRACE CUMMINGS – “PRASE YOU” (FATBOY SLIM COVER)
“No matter what happens, I will never tire of this song and it will never tire of making me happy,” Grace Cummings said of her smoky new cover of Fatboy Slim. “I would never try to do better than Camille Yarborough or Fatboy Slim…there’s no point. But combining the two in a soulful groove was something a bit our own and hopefully joyous in itself.”

ALEX G – “ALL YOU WANTED” (MICHELLE BRANCH COVER)
In a new SiriusXMU session, Alex G puts a DIY indie rock spin on Michelle Branch’s classic “All You Wanted” without losing any of the charm of the original.

DEER TICK – “MAKE BELIEVE (STUDIO DEMO)”
Deer Tick releases an 11th anniversary edition of their 2011 album divine providence featuring previously unreleased songs and previously unreleased alternate versions recorded during the original sessions, including this studio demo of “Make Believe”. “For me, ‘Make Believe’ was a watershed moment in the music we make today,” says Ian O’Neil. “The lyrics and hooks felt more measured and universal and mature. I remember thinking it was just a really solid song, which was really refreshing in a time when we practiced a lot of reckless abandon.”

38 SPESH & HARRY FRAUD – “BAND OF BROTHERS” (ft. BENNY THE BUTCHER & RANSOM)
Rochester rapper 38 Spesh and New York producer Harry Fraud have a collaborative project, Beyond beliefscheduled for November 18. On new single “Band of Brothers,” they team up with like-minded rappers Benny the Butcher and Ransom for a timeless take on ’90s East Coast rap.

BLIND SOUL – “BRUISE THE SORE”
Soul Blind’s new album Feel it all around arrives this Friday (11/11) via Other People Records, and here’s another taste of its 90s grunge revival vibes.

LE BLAZE – “DREAMER”
The French electronic duo The Blaze returns with this dose of kinetic and atmospheric pop.

SHE’S INTO PARTIES – “CHERISH”
Although it bears the name of a classic Bauhaus bachelor, UK band She’s In Parties aren’t so gothic, leaning more on the upbeat side of dreampop. The new single “Cherish” is pretty catchy, though.

DAGR & CHERRY GLAZERR – “TEXAS”
The latest in Hardly Art’s 15th anniversary singles series is this collaboration between Cherry Glazerr and dancepop duo DAGR (aka Ceci Gomez and Veronika Jane Wyman who have collaborated with Portugal. The Man and Rebecca Black, among others). “We wrote ‘Texas’ in the 100 degree heat of Palm Springs on a psychedelic golf course,” says DAGR. “We’re both from Texas and originally wrote it as a love letter to the absurdity of our home country. Cherry Glazerr turned our ode to alternative metal into a beautiful love song. ‘Texas ‘ quickly became one of our favorite records, and experimenting with a new genre with Clem was really special.

DREAM WOMAN – “LEECH”
“It’s a hymn to empathy. To solidarity,” London band Dream Wife say of their first new music in two years. the song expands and contracts lyrically and musically, enunciating and calling out the double standards of power. No one really wins in a patriarchal society. We all lose. We could all use more empathy. As the first song to be released For a while we’ve been wanting to write something that feels like letting an animal out of a cage. It’s over. And it’s for blood.

FIEVEL IS GLAUQUE – “CLUES NOT TO READ”
Feivel is Glauque, aka Zach Phillips and Ma Clément, release their first studio album Flaming Swords later this month and here’s another jazzy, skronky, tropical track.

HATCHIE – “NOSE PICK”
Hatchie freed give the world, his debut album for Secretly Canadian, in April, and now follows it with the new single “Nosedive”. “I wrote ‘Nosedive’ with Joe [Agius] and Jorge [Elbrecht] last year, after visiting an amazing gothic megaclub in Denver on a weeknight,” she says. “We were inspired to recreate the energy we felt there and experiment with a chorus without words. There are no other songs in our concert that are so impactful, so we wanted to write something angry and powerful. It’s about realizing that you don’t have control over your life no matter how hard you try; I wanted the lyrics to sound like the devil on your shoulder to convince you to self-sabotage.”

JW FRANCIS – “DREAM HOUSE”
“Dream House is a song I wrote about passing away loved ones and valuing others above all things material,” says JW Francis of the title track from his new album. “Specifically, I missed my mother during her quarantine – I lived by myself in an apartment in Brooklyn for four months and I would have given anything to be with her.“ Dream house releases January 27 via Sunday Best.

CHANNEL – “SLUGGER”
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its self-titled debut album, Flume has shared an unreleased track from the sessions that created it, “Slugger.” “Did this one in Paris, I always liked that demo but it never really made it into an album,” he says. “I thought to myself that now that 10 years have passed since the release of my first album, it would be a good moment to share.”

FLEET FOXES – “A SKY LIKE I’VE NEVER SEEN”
“A Sky Like I’ve Never Seen” features Brazilian musician Tim Bernardes and was recorded for an upcoming documentary Wild cat which hits Amazon Prime on December 30.

STACK – “LOOPS”
“For most of Pile’s existence, I have used songwriting as a means of resolving personal issues and expressing uncomfortable feelings in what I have seen as a healthy form of dealing with emotions,” Pile frontman Rick Maguire said. “By doing this, I’ve also worked hard to create a career in writing music. The song ‘Loops’ is about the confusion I experienced where these two roads meet, and I feel asking if what I create is for personal growth or for personal gain ended up prompting more questions than answers.” Learn more here.

JEN CLOHER – “MANA TAKATĀPUI”
“I hope [“Mana Takatāpui”] becomes the anthem takatāpui can sing loudly in the car, while cleaning the house, at the club (remixed!) is for all of us. The joyful celebration we need and deserve right now.” The title of the song roughly translates to “queer power” in Maori. Read more about this here.

ISOMONSTROSITY – “TAKE ME BACK” FEAT. EMPRESS OF AND BRYCE DESSNER
Experimental trio isomonstrosity have tapped Empress Of for vocals and Bryce Dessner on piano on their new single from their self-titled debut album. It’s a wonderfully understated electronic track with brilliant minimalist production. Learn more here.
