The vote of thousands of fans and music professionals determined our list of Detroit’s 100 Best Songs, a countdown of several months for the free press that ended in July.

Voters made over 100,000 song selections, and we promised to dig deeper into those results to compile custom ratings – the top songs by genre, decade, and other criteria. We will be rolling out the lists over the next two weeks.

These specialty rankings provide insight well beyond the 100 in total, including many titles that did not make that final cut.

Today we start with the 60 biggest selections in the rock genre.
