Doubling Week 5 episodes means doubling the themes – under a new theme – and a double elimination. Do you have all that? “Dancing with the Stars” will have a two-night event for Star Stories Week: Monday, October 17 will be the most memorable night of the year and Tuesday, October 18 will be prom night.
The top 12 will occur on Monday, during which one couple will be eliminated, and the remaining 11 will hit the hardwood on Tuesday, during which a second couple will be eliminated. So it’s not a double elimination in one episode, but two couples will be gone by the end of Tuesday. It also means that a couple will not be able to perform their Prom Night routine.
Tuesday will also include the dance marathon, featuring two styles, the bustle (to “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer) and Lindy Hop (on “Jump Jive an’ Wail” by The Brian Setzer Orchestra). Bonus points will be awarded to couples based on the order in which the judges selected them. The last couple standing will be crowned prom king and queen. This week will also mark the start of Contemporary’s season and will feature three contestants performing their own songs. And in a shock to no one, the “CODA” star Daniel Durant will perform for Joni Mitchell‘s “Both Sides Now” for the most memorable year.
See the individual dances for both nights below.
