Disney has released an album of lo-fi instrumental covers of some of their classic songs, creating a collection of nostalgic beats for you to kick back/study. They even come with a looping animation of Minnie Mouse studying – clearly inspired by YouTuber ChilledCow’s famous Study Girl from “lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to”.

Released on Friday Lofi Minnie: focus adapts 10 Disney movie songs into relaxing lo-fi melodies, from The Lion King“Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”, at Frozen 2“Into the unknown”. It’s a pretty short playlist of only 24 minutes, but it’s maybe better than songs like Encanto“Surface Pressure” was not retained.

Each track was produced by a different lo-fi artist, with contributors including Purrple Cat, Philanthropist, and Krynoze.

“What drew us to lo-fi was the ability to reinvent our songs in a completely new way that combines the soothing benefits of lo-fi with the wonder and nostalgia that Disney has to offer,” Disney said in a statement. “Lo-fi and Disney are both a great source of comfort, so the two make a perfect match.”

The 10 lo-fi Disney songs are split into their own YouTube clips and put together in a playlist, meaning your relaxation will likely be interrupted by a loud Grammarly commercial more than once. Fortunately, Lofi Minnie: focus is also available on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music, letting you relax in “A Whole New World” on the platform where you’ve already paid to remove ads.
