(BOUND BROOK, NJ) — Brook Arts Center presents singer Chris Ruggiero May 20, 2022 at 8 p.m. Ruggiero takes audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Chris has been described as an “old soul” at 22, whose approach to his concert appearances is more in keeping with that of a bygone era than artists of his generation. Chris first gained national attention when he performed on a national PBS-TV special and traveled the country with stops in Las Vegas, Cleveland, Wisconsin, Texas, Chicago, Florida, New Jersey and , of course, New York.

His new album “I Am Chris Ruggiero” features original arrangements by legendary arranger Charlie Calello on timeless classics such as “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, “Put Your Head on My Shoulder”, “My Cherie Amour”, “The More I See you soon” and “This magical moment”. Calello has had over 100 national records as an arranger and producer, having worked with Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow, to name a few. At the end, Calello commented, “It’s been a long time since I heard a voice like this. Chris doesn’t chase the music.

“When I’m on stage singing a classic love song and I look out into the audience and see that twinkle in their eyes, I know they’re thinking of a special time and place in their lives – or maybe their first kiss!” said Chris. “Turns out people just can’t get enough of stupid love songs.”
