So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Every week we review a handful of new albums (from all genres), round up even more new music we’d call “indie” and talk about what metal comes out. We post music news, track premieres and more all day. We are updating a weekly playlist of some of our current favorite tracks. Here is a daily summary with a bunch of interesting and recently released songs in one place.
BEABADOOBEE – “SEE YOU SOON”
Pavement fan and recent Coachella performer Beabadoobee has shared another track from his upcoming second album, beatopia. “This song is about a really personal time in my life where I had to spend time alone to achieve a lot of things and it’s one of the most cherished songs I’ve written,” Bea told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “It has this uplifting feeling and shows another side of what I’m doing and what we can expect from my new album.”
ANOTHER MICHAEL – “WATER PRESSURE”
The Run For Cover-signed band Another Michael followed their debut album in 2021 New Music and Big Pop with this new folk single.
HARKIN – “A NEW DAY”
“‘A New Day’ is a love song born out of glitter and heartache,” Harkin said. “It feels fitting to release it in the spring as it chronicles my journey from grieving the past to hoping for the future. The song itself was born out of a heart-pounding sampler part I made from the recording of a thrift store keyboard that I’ve since given to my friend’s daughter. It only seems to me that the instrument that spawned it should continue to circulate as this song will now. When i was writing the lyrics the glittery keyboards reminded me of something i read about why we humans are so drawn to glitter on a primitive level it reminds us of the reflection of the clean water. The dance of beauty and usefulness inspires me greatly. I keep looking for clues. Harkin’s second solo album, Honeymoon Suitereleases June 17.
